SHOW DESCRIPTION:

Pairs of celebrities and professional dancers perform choreographed dance routines which are judged by a panel of dance experts and then voted on by the viewing public. The scores are combined and the outcome is announced during a results show televised on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET, with one couple being eliminated each week. Hosted by Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris.

BRIEF HISTORY:

The scoring process was changed after the first season's controversy surrounding Kelly Monaco's win. "Dancing with the Stars" is the U.S. version of the international hit series, "Strictly Come Dancing."
